Capsicum Stuffed Tomato Curry

I love tomatoes and tried to make a very popular dish Stuffed Tomato..Using potato mixture for stuffing is a routine one n i want to try a different i substitued potatos with capsicum n onions,made it into a paste and used it for stuffing..adding capsicum gives us a spicy taste to the dish.Here is the recipe....

Oil – 2 tsp
Cloves –2
Cinnamon – ¼ inch
Onion –1 Medium
Ginger Garlic Paste –1tsp
Capsicum –1
Romano Tomatoes – 4
Cashews – handful (15 pieces)
Coriander powder –1 tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Chili powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder - pinch
Garam Masala powder – pinch
Salt – Accorindg to taste
Green chilies –4
Curry leaves –10
Coriander leaves - for garnish

Method of preparation:

Stuffing and Gravy:

1.Take 1-tsp of oil in a pan when its hot add cloves and cinnamon and let it crackle.

2.Then add sliced onions and ginger garlic paste and sauté them

3.When onions are turn transparent add capsicum pieces and one tomato and let them cook for few (3-5) minutes
4.Add Cashews, Coriander powder, Cumin powder, Chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and Salt and cook for 2 minutes.
5.Let the Mixture cool down and then grind the above with out water and stuffing is ready

Stuffing tomatoes:
1.Take tomatoes and slice them from top vertically leaving the bottom.Take the seeds out from tomato.

2.Stuff half of the above mixture into the tomatoes n put them aside.

Curry preparation:
1.Take 1- tsp of oil in non-stick pan and add green chilies and curry leaves when it is hot add stuffed tomatoes and let it cook until tomatoes become soft.
2.Then add remaining gravy to stuffed tomatoesLet it cook for 5-10 minutes with closed lid and garnish with coriander leavesCapsicum stuffed tomato is here .

Serve with chapatti/rice


Cutlets...aaahhh...when we talk about them we mostly think of Aloo Cutlets r vegetable cutlets. But I didn't use potato in this dish to make it healthier. I'm using Poha.
Poha, is known as "beaten rice," (atukulu).Poha can be used to make different dishes for different meals. Now here is the snack item.

1.Poha (attukulu): 1 cup
2.Onions: 2 no's (small)
3.Carrot: 1 no
4.Besan: 2 tbsps
5.Rice Flour: 1 tbsp
6.Curd: 3tbsp
7.Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 tbsp
8.Garam Masala: ?1/2tbsp
9.Cilantro: 1/2bunch
10.Curry Leaves: 4 or 5 no's
11.Chilly Powder

1.Soak poha in water for 4-5 mins, drain and squeeze the excess water .Mash the poha n keep aside.
2.Chop onions and finely, peel and grate carrot.
3.Chop the cilantro and curry leaves.
4.Now add curd, ginger garlic paste, Garam masala powder, onions, carrot, chilly powder, salt, besan, rice flour, cliantro, curry leaves, to the squeezed and mashed poha and mix well. If needed add some water. Be careful while adding water. Because excess water may spoil the dish.
5.Salt and Garam Masala can be added according to your taste.
6.Put a pan and pour the sufficient oil for deep fry.
7.When the oil is ready then make the Poha dough into the desired shape and fry it in the oil. Fry on the both sides till golden brown.
8.Garnish the cutlets with carrot and onions.
9.Serve it hot with Tomato Ketchup.
If the Water is excess n the batter becomes loose then the cutlets will break when u put them in oil .At that Time add little besan and mix well.


One evening when Naimish called me after his office n told me dat he was feeling i was thinking wat to make..then i found the puff sheets n immediately thought of making puffs..ok good idea..Y not i make two varities..thinking like this i decided to make two kinds of puffs.. Vegetable puffs n egg puffs,one of the favourite snack to many...n preparing this veggie or egg puffs at home is also very simple..We can have freshly baked puffs too wen we make it at home.Even kids r very crazy about puffs..

Now here is the receipe:
For vegetable puffs:
Puff Pastry Sheets: 6
Potato Masala
Mustard seeds:1 tsp
Urad Dal:1 tsp
Jeera:1 tsp
Channa Dal:1 tbsp
CurryLeaves:4 to 5 leaves
Turmeric: Pinch
Garam Masala Powder: 1/2 tsp
GingerGarlic Paste:1/2 tbsp
Chilly Powder

Procedure For Patato Masala:

1.Peel n cut the potatoes.Boil the potatoes n mash them.
2.Chop the onions
3.Put a pan n add little oil to it..let the oil heat n then add jeera, channa dal, urad dal, mustard seeds.Fry for 2 mins.
4.Now add the onions fry till they turn golden color, add ginger garlic paste n curry leaves n fry them till it looses the raw flavor.
5.Add the mashed potatoes to the pan.stir well
6.Now add turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder, Chilli powder(salt, chilli powder n garam masala can b added according to taste)
7.Mix well n now the potato masala is ready for veggie puffs.

Once wen the masala is ready.Take one pastry sheet n put some masala on the sheet n fold the sheet into half n fix the edges by applying little water.We can make them into the desired shapes.

Place them in a tray n put them in the freezer for 5 mins n them bake them in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 mins..

Veggie Puffs r redy to serve wid tomato sauce or chilli sauce.

For Egg Puffs:

Bolied Eggs:2
Chat Masala
Pepper Powder

1.Cut the boiled egg into 2 halves

2.Sprinkle little chat masala, pepper powder n salt on the egg's inner half(yolk side) n put the egg on the puff sheet..we should close the alternate sides of the sheet n leave the other 2 sides open..
Now the puff are ready to bake..Put them in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 mins.The egg puffs r ready.Serve it with Tomato Sauce or Chilli Sauce.

To get a good color to ur puffs..jst coat them wid little milk before u bake them...This really makes ur puffs look good.
